Messages on Touch'em All - October 2007
October 06, 2007 - Hello from the Division Series
Hope you all are enjoying the postseason! I am, even though one team is obviously missing from these eight. I thought I would just update you on a few new shows to watch over at the TBS Hot Corner on MLB.com. One was my appearance with Regis & Kelly earlier this week in New York, as we spread the word about what we've been doing here. There's my interview with Red Sox GM Theo Epstein, who will tell you what he thought the biggest surprise has been for the AL East champs this year. And you can hear Kevin Youkilis share his thoughts about his blog and whether he gets as nervous before a game as I do before giving a performance on-camera. Please note that the kind people over at Six Apart have made it possible for us to migrate this MLBlog over to a next-generation Typepad platform, so that will have a couple of minor effects. First of all, it will be transparent to you all except that the About page will look a little different. Second, and the reason we did this, is so we can have comment-approval capability, which is pretty standard these days. That means your comment won't show up immediately anymore, but we'll try to approve them by batch as often as we can, so please hang in there if you leave a comment and haven't seen it show up in a bit. I've appreciated everyone's comments all season and I always read them. Thanks and I hope you are enjoying the playoffs!
Peace,
Love,
AND BASEBALL,
Alyssa
October 09, 2007 - Next stop NLCS
What an October! It was a thrill to sign the inside of the historic Green Monster in Boston and I am enjoying this dream job with the TBS Hot Corner on MLB.com. There are a lot of new clips posted there and we'll keep them coming. It was also fun to chat with Ernie, Cal and Big Hurt while they were in the studio for Game 4 of the Indians-Yankees series. I am excited to be going to Arizona tomorow and then to Colorado for the National League Championship Series. Those are two teams I obviously see quite often during the season in LA, and hopefully you will see a unique view of their worlds in this big series on TBS that starts Thursday night at Chase Field. Also, I want to extend my gratitude to Heather (pictured) and Matt for doing the TOUCH fashion show on the TBS Hot Corner -- thanks for thinking of me!
Peace,
Love,
AND BASEBALL,
Alyssa
P.S. I am curious what some of your favorite memories are from this unforgettable year in baseball.
P.S.S. Here are four other MLBlogs you have to see: Helton | Clark | Garko | Youk
October 17, 2007 - ROCKTOBER
What an unbelievable run the Rockies have had. I must say, even though they are an NL West team and I bleed blue, I have had a great time watching them soar this postseason. They are just so fundamentally sound. Defense. Offense. Pitching. Clutch hits. Big outs. Chemistry. They’ve got it all and they’re playing like they have nothing to lose. They also seem to be a very humble bunch and so appreciative for the opportunity to compete at this level. At the top is me with their All-Star reliever Brian Fuentes (photo by John Leyba, staff photographer for The Denver Post), and below that a group shot with the Rockies grounds crew. To the right, that's Rockies starting pitcher Jeff Francis, who's just waiting to pitch to someone in the World Series. The AL team (Believeland Indians) that has to play them in the World Series better watch out! And how about those Rockies fans? The fans alone deserve the National League championship. Their fan passion made me so jealous. How many days until Spring Training?
Well, my gig with TBS ended with the final out last night. There will be more of my segments posted at Hot Corner, though, so don’t forget to keep checking the link. I have to say, I had an amazing time and I am so grateful to TBS for the opportunity. I just want to thank them all for believing in me and allowing me to be the voice of the fan. It truly was a memorable experience and one I will never forget. Needless to say, I am very proud to have been a part of the 2007 postseason TBS family. And thanks to all of you baseball fans who clicked on the site. It was you who made Hot Corner a great success.
Peace,
Love,
AND BASEBALL,
Alyssa
PS, you can click here to find the new (and updated) TBS Hot Corner Photo Album, and here's a little film fun below.
October 19, 2007 - An Open Letter To All Sports Journalists
Dear sports media world,
I have never dated Josh Beckett nor was he ever an “ex-flame”. Please fact check. You are journalists, not bloggers.
Thank you,
Alyssa Milano

October 30, 2007 - Greetings from Toronto
I am so sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I am in Toronto filming WISEGAL and I haven’t come up for air until this very moment.
Congratulations to all of the Red Sox fans. I am green with envy.
Two questions for you pertaining to the Dodgers:
With Joe Girardi set to manage the Yankees, what do you think of the possibility of Joe Torre and Don Mattingly wearing Dodger Blue?
A-Rod or Mike Lowell?
Talk amongst yourselves.
Peace,
Love,
AND BASEBALL,
Alyssa
